GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The man who killed Suzette Langlois because her boyfriend owed him drug money received the maximum sentence in Brown County Court Thursday.
Thursday. 47-year-old Anthony Kitchenakow of Suring was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide for the August 2016 murder in Bellevue.
Judge John Zakowski sentenced him to 40 years in prison, followed by 10 years of extended supervision.
The state asks for 30 years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision.
Investigators arrested Kitchenakow two years after the murder. His DNA was on the gun magazine found at the scene.
This case never went to trial. Kitchenakow entered an Alford plea, meaning he never admitted that he was guilty, but was convinced that there was enough evidence against him for a jury to convict him.
Kitchenakow asked Judge John Zakowski for a second chance, but Zakowski handed down a max sentence.
“An execution of someone who was pleading for her life,” said Zakowski of the crime. “That is how the court sees this offense.
He said he believes that Kitchenakow has some good qualities, but this was a serious crime.
“So, you can be the best father, grandfather, and provider, and everything, but this is what you did Anthony.”
If Kitchenakow lives past his prison sentence, there will be a number of stipulations he must follow. Some of them include total sobriety, full-time employment, and no contact with the victim’s loved ones or witnesses.
