BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The former operator of adult family homes in Brown County is charged with running an overcrowded home, abuse of a resident, submitting fake documents and tax evasion.
Prosecutors say Lerenzo Head, 36, operated Dauphin House in Allouez and Danz House in Green Bay. The investigation began in June 2018, when a resident of Dauphin House allegedly went to a community service group with feces on his hat. The resident told investigators his hat accidentally fell into a bucket that he used as a toilet. He also said he was locked in his bedroom at night.
When investigators interviewed Head, he told them that he felt the man smeared his hat in feces because he wanted to move to a different facility.
The resident also told investigators seven people lived at Dauphin House. By state law, adult family homes are limited to four residents.
Head is also accused of falsifying documents by forging staff members’ signatures on training logs. One staff member told investigators that he did not have any formal training; instead, all training awa son the job. Another staff member told investigators that her signature appeared on training logs after she was no longer working for Head.
Head is also accused of failing to report more than $600,000 in income on his taxes.
He is due to make an initial appearance in court April 8.
