GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers say fans should use caution when buying tickets through secondary sources after receiving reports of counterfeit tickets.
The team says the counterfeit tickets have been circulating online through unauthorized resellers.
Fans are advised to only buy verified tickets from officials sources and team partners, such as Ticketmaster’s NFL Ticket Exchange and Vivid Seats. Other reliable sources that resell verified tickets are StubHub and SeatGeek.
Should fans choose to buy from secondary sources, they should request identification from those selling the tickets and to use a credit card to purchase, so that in the event of a problem, the charges can be disputed.
Here are some red flags to watch out for:
- Price is too good to be true
- Poor grammar and spelling
- Requests for payment by wire transfer, cashier’s check money order, prepaid debit or gift cards
Fans should also keep in mind, the team has eliminated PDF/Print at Home tickets in favor of mobile tickets.
