DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) — A De Pere Art Exhibit was damaged by vandals sometime over the weekend.
Someone damaged two flamingo sculptures in Nicolet Alley.
The artist, Naomi Moes-Jenkins, plans to repair them.
“We put a lot of blood sweat and tears. I worked a lot of hours on these sculptures,” said Moes-Jenkins.
Driving by Sunday morning, she noticed the head on one of her flamingo sculptures was missing.
“She was sad, like crying sad, and I was just mad that people would do that. It’s just inconsiderate. I’m not talking about just to us its to the community,” said fellow artist Susan Koltz.
“This city is really trying hard to bring art and culture into peoples lives every day,” said Moes-Jenkins.
The alley was turned into an art walk four months ago.
Police are investigating.
