WAUSHARA COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — The snow may have pretty much melted off throughout the area but that isn’t an issue on Nordic Mountain.
“We power-groomed the hills every morning and still have about a two-foot base,” Ashley Caves, a Snow School Instructor at the Waushara County park, told WTAQ. “So the conditions should be pretty good.”
The snow you’ll be skiing on won’t be the the real stuff, but it’ll work just fine.
“We made snow basically the whole month of November, when it was cold, and manmade snow reacts a little different to normal temperatures,” said Caves. “So it lasts a little longer.”
She says it will feel a little more like “Spring Skiing”.
The ski/snowboarding hills at Kewaunee County’s Winter Park are scheduled to open with regular season hours for the entire park beginning Saturday, December 28th and Sunday, December 29th. It’s had a limited opening this week.
