OMRO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Omro Police are saying a fire at the 200 block of McKinley Avenue on Christmas Day “appears suspicious in nature” after two individuals and a dog were found dead.
Authorities say at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Friday, an officer patrolling the area reported heavy smoke and flames.
Officers attempted to make contact with the individuals in the home but were hindered by the fire.
Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames and located the two deceased individuals and dog.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), State Fire Marshall have been assisting with the investigation.
Omro Police say the investigation is still very active and have not said when they would have additional information to share.
