GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay police and local leaders are coming together in response to growing gun violence in the city.
Religious leaders walked side by side with police Tuesday night — all of them holding candles to honor those lost this year to deadly shootings.
The group also held a small prayer service in hopes to limit violence.
“We had some discussion as religious leaders about the high number of shootings and just recognize that is a higher number than we usually have and how traumatizing that can be for communities and neighborhoods where those gun shots ring out,” Marian Boyle Rohloff of Joshua Religious Leaders said.
The group hopes to have more talks on gun violence with the community in the summer months.
