OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – According the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, 19 to 29 year olds made up 14% of Wisconsin’s voters.
Fox 11 spoke with students on the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh campus about the 2020 presidential election.
Many students say their teachers and voting campaigns on social media drove them to cast a ballot.
Sidewalk chalk encouraging students to vote was found on campus.
The students who spoke with us expressed a similar opinion — that the country is divided.
“I see that the country is extremely divided . In past presidencies it’s been more centrist to now where if you’re a democrat then you’re like way left and if you’re a republican it’s way right,” said UWO student Matthew Spadoni.
Some students said that both President Trump and Vice President Joe Biden were difficult to relate to.
They said most of their political opinions come from family, friends, and social media.
