GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The stands remained empty inside Lambeau Field during Sunda’s game.
Last month, the Packers reached out to non-profit groups to possibly man concession stands at the November 15th game.
Lambeau Field also posted COVID-19 warning and direction signs to fans in parking lots.
The Packers have not announced if they will welcome fans back, but some fans are hopeful they will.
Brenda Landwehr tells FOX 11 her favorite part about going to a Packers game is the camaraderie.
“The people and everybody’s excited. It’s fun.”
“Love being there, the stadium’s amazing, so much energy,” another fan said.
“These guys playing out there, they don’t get the fans support as far as being in the stands and watching them but we still appreciate them,” Sam Motzer said.
The team previously said in order to host fans, the area will need to see a marked improvement in the rate of hospitalizations, as well as the community infection rate and positivity rate.
All three measurements have recently trended up.
Some fans say they hope the Packers give fans the option, but say they can support Green Bay in many ways, whether it’s in the stands or on the sofa.
“If it matters to you to watch and support your team, then I think you should. Watching TV, same thing,” Motzer said.
Some fans say they prefer cheering on the Packers outside the stadium.
Rod Hughes tells FOX 11 he hosts a tailgate with family and friends every year near the field.
“We can get tickets but we prefer this. This is fun. We have TVs and we just have a good time.”
The Packers will play the 49ers in San Francisco on Thursday. The next home game is the 15th against Jacksonville.
