GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – President Donald Trump made one last push in Northeast Wisconsin with just days until the election, and supporters were there to cheer him on.
It might’ve been a bit chilly, but local supporters lined up early to fill the Jet Air hangar at Austin Straubel International Airport to welcome the president.
“I’d rather sit here than at a football game,” said Corey Borremans of Hobart. “I’d rather be here than at work, actually. I love it. I’m so excited. I get cold fast and easy, but I can’t wait…I skipped my training to work the polls in Hobart so that I could do this.”
“Sounds to me like it’s extremely important that he carries Wisconsin. So the more he comes here, the more people see him, know his story about saving this country – that’s what we need to hear, and that’s what’s going to bring them out on Election Day. Hopefully everybody will get out and vote – and vote with their conscience,” said Dick Marves. “There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm here. The people are showing up. I’m glad to see that, and I’m sure the president will appreciate it as well.”

“He has a lot of respect for Wisconsin, he knows we’re important, so it’s important for us to be out here to support him,” Frank said.
Supporters shared a variety of reasons for why they back the president and why they decided to spend their Friday at an outdoor rally in late October.
“I want America to be free and for people to make their own decisions and that’s what we’re all about here,” Borremans said.
“People are burning our cities and looting and getting away with it. I have a real issue with that, and I hope Mr. Trump stays in as president puts a stop to that,” Marves added.
“I just wish everybody would see what Trump has done. He’s doing what he said he was going to do, and that’s why we voted for him in the first place,” another woman said. “He’s not a politician, he didn’t have to do that. He loves our country. Everybody hates him for no reason, they know nothing about him!”
“He’s an amazing president and I don’t think we’ll see the likes of him again,” Tom from Illinois said. “Freedom isn’t free and neither is anything else worth saving.”
Many supporters we spoke with were simply excited to see him in person.
“It’s the president of the United States. it’s just cool to see,” said Derek Weber of De Pere. “You’re seeing a 16-point deficit, you’re seeing a 1-point for Trump. So it’s cool to see that he’ll come out here just to make sure he gets a win in Wisconsin.”
Weber said while he can’t actually vote yet because his 18th birthday is a few days after the election, he still wanted to get out there and show support.
While there was strong enthusiasm about their presidential preference and the importance of Wisconsin as a swing state, that wasn’t the only reason people were looking forward to Election Day.
“I’m very interested in what’s going on with the country and what could or could not happen, but the ads are getting overwhelming no matter which side it is. We can only take so much of that repetitive stuff. So I’ll be glad when [November 4th] rolls around,” Marves told WTAQ News.
Trump’s appearance in Northeast Wisconsin is part of a Midwestern swing, including stops in Michigan and Minnesota on Friday.
Former Vice President Joe Biden is set to speak in Milwaukee later tonight.
Trump is planning one final visit to Wisconsin, a rally in Kenosha on Monday.
