DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Students in two area school districts are returning to the classroom next week.
Both the West De Pere and the Luxemburg-Casco school districts announced they would move from virtual learning to in-person learning Monday, Oct. 19.
Meanwhile some schools in the Neenah Joint School District will return to in-person learning next week.
Elementary schools will return to in-person learning five days per week, while Neenah High School will remain in online learning over the next two weeks. At the middle school level, Horace Mann will return to in-person five days per week and Shattuck will go to a hybrid model of in-person and online learning.
The districts moved to virtual learning earlier this month due to a high number of students and staff required to be quarantined.
In a letter sent to families, the West De Pere School District says studies show schools in session are not significant contributors to community spread.
As the schools transitions back to in-person learning, officials from both districts ask families to be diligent with health guidelines in the community to keep students and staff healthy and in the classroom.
