ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Ashwaubenon School District will move to remote learning beginning next Thursday, Oct. 1 due to COVID-19.
In a letter to families, superintendent Kurt Weyers said the decision is based on significant community spread of COVID-19, local hospitals being burdened and the safety of students, staff and the community.
Elementary students and middle and school students in the GREEN cohort will report to school next Tuesday, Sept. 29. There will be no school Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Intramural and co-curricular activities at Parkview and Ashwaubenon High School have also been canceled during the district’s closure.
Remote learning will continue through at least Oct. 16. The district will re-evaluate based on information from the Brown County Health Department and local health leaders at that time, according to the letter.
Specific information on remote instruction and schedules will be sent to families by building principals.
