GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Over 200 job seekers made their way through a Thursday afternoon job fair in the parking lot of the Riverside Ballroom on Green Bay’s east side.
It wasn’t an ordinary job fair. Instead of employers standing around with job information, it was one-stop shopping–drive through style.
“There were no employers on site,” said Ryan Herber with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board. “What we did was reach out to businesses throughout the community, collected their recruitment material, and we’re handing that out.”
It’s their second time holding such an event. A previous drive-through job fair in July had over 3,500 job seekers attend. Herber says the drop in attendance probably correlates with a drop in the state’s unemployment rate since COVID-19 closure orders were lifted in May.
Several identical job fairs were held across the state on Tuesday. If you missed it, job leads are available at wwda.org.
