FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – A HazMat team was called in after a 300-gallon tote of Organic Peroxide was punctured and began leaking onto the loading dock floor at a Fox Crossing business.
The Fox Crossing Fire Department initially responded to the call at a Neenah business at 2100 Holly Road on Friday. The first arriving fire units evacuated the building, taking occupants to a safe location.
An Oshkosh Fire Department HazMat team was called in to assist. They utilized large absorbent booms and oil dry to stop the flow of chemical into the parking lot and a nearby ditch. A HazMat entry team was able to go near the tote and stop the active leak.
Approximately 160 gallons of chemical had leaked onto the loading dock floor and parking lot. Several employees were evaluated for chemical exposure on scene, no Fire Department personnel were injured during the response.
