GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Kathryn Friday was convicted Thursday of perjury in connection with the investigation into the murder of Victoria Prokopovitz.
Friday was dating James Prokopovitz when his wife, Victoria, disappeared in 2013. He was charged with her murder in May 2019, even though Victoria’s body has never been found. He is scheduled to stand trial October 12th.
Friday pleaded no contest Thursday to conspiracy to commit perjury, perjury, and obstruction. A bail jumping charge was dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for October 1st.
During the investigation, a secret John Doe hearing was held. Friday lied about the case during her testimony on May 8, 2019.
James Prokopovitz was the last person to see his wife on April 25th, 2013. Investigators say Victoria was reported missing, but her purse, cell phone and ID were all at her home in Pittsfield.
