(UW ATHLETICS) – Head coach Kelly Sheffield of the Wisconsin volleyball team has announced the signing of middle blocker Jane Manecke, a 6-foot-2 athlete out of Nazareth Academy in Illinois.
A multi-sport athlete, Manecke marks the sixth signee in the 2026 class for the Badgers, joining the likes of Audrey Flanagan, Isabelle Hoppe, Lynney Tarnow, Halle Thompson and Kymora Scott.
“I’m excited to be able to announce Jane as a Badger,” said head coach Kelly Sheffield. “I really like her upside as she is nowhere near the player that she will end up being. She doesn’t have a lot of experience but is getting really good training and is getting a lot better every week. She’s a multi-sport athlete who jumps well and gets off the floor quick and it’s obvious that she enjoys competition. It’s rare to find this kind of athlete in the middle of the country this far into her senior year. I’m looking forward to getting her here this summer.”
The incoming freshman helped lead her high school to the 3A State Championship game in her senior season en route to a runner-up finish.
While playing for Nazareth Academy, Manecke was a member of the Adversity Volleyball Club in the Chicagoland area, too.
