(UW ATHLETICS) MADISON – Grady Deering’s second-period power-play goal provided all the offense No. 6 Wisconsin needed in a 1-0 shutout over Robert Morris on Saturday at the Kohl Center.
After a scoreless first period the Badgers came out to the ice with a new hunger. After back-to-back power plays for the Badgers, Deering redirected a point shot from Logan Hensler to give the Badgers a 1-0 lead.
The Badgers outshot Robert Morris, 43-18 for the game and hit three posts, but failed to find insurance.
On the back end, Daniel Hauser was perfect, getting help from the players in front of him, including sophomore, Bruno Idžan, who provided a clean back check on a Robert Morris breakaway in the third period.
