(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) FOND DU LAC – An early goal was the difference for St. Norbert College as the Green Knights prevailed 1-0 over Marian University to open Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play at Smith Field.
The Green Knights (2-4-1, 1-0 NACC) found the lead at 3:20, when Gracie Adrian (pictured) beat Marian’s Cristal Muniz on a one-versus-one following an assist from freshman Madi Hacker. Aleah Reesman had St. Norbert’s best look in the second half, with her shot being saved by Muniz at 73:15.
Leah Hess kept a clean sheet for the third time this season, making nine stops. She made six saves in the second half, with three coming in the final 20 minutes of the match.
The Green Knights were outshot 18-7. Muniz made one save for the Sabres.
