(247NEWSOURCE/MLB) – The Milwaukee Brewers outslugged the Cincinnati Reds 13-9 at American Family Field in Milwaukee Saturday night.
Garrett Mitchell led the offense with a home run and four RBI.
William Contreras and Brice Turang also went deep as Milwaukee has won five straight games to remain first in the National League.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talks about the offensive explosion which has seen Milwaukee score 33 runs in the first 2 games of the series.
Murphy said the whole lineup produced.
Murphy said it’s not like they weren’t facing tough pitching.
Chad Patrick improved to 9-4 after pitching 1 1/3 innings in relief of Shane Drohan.
Brady Singer surrendered eight runs over four innings and took the loss for Cincinnati.
The Brewers who are 93-56 will send Robert Gasser to the mound in the series finale. Gasser is 4-5 with a 4.43 ERA.
The Reds will counter with Chase Burns who is 15-3 with a 2.73 ERA.
