GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The wait for Raising Cane’s in Northeast Wisconsin may end soon.
Grand Chute’s Plan Commission approved the site plan on Aug. 18. The town is working with the developer on final administrative requirements before issuing permits, according Town Planner Tanner Russell.
Where would the Raising Cane’s be located?
The Raising Cane’s would replace the recently razed Applebee’s building at 3730 W. College Ave., just east of Interstate 41 and the Fox River Mall and south of the Marcus Hollywood Cinema. Plans call for a 2,821-square-foot building, significantly smaller than the old Applebee’s building, according to Loopnet. The site will have access from College Avenue and N. Westhill Boulevard. It will include a two-lane drive-thru.
When would the Raising Cane’s open?
Raising Cane’s has not yet given a timeline, but it still needs to receive final construction permits before it can start building.
What is Raising Cane’s?
Raising Cane’s is a fast-food restaurant known for its chicken fingers, chicken sandwich and sweet tea. Last year, it ranked No. 14 among all fast food restaurants in sales, according to QSR Magazine.
It opened its first store in Louisiana in 1996.
