(WNFL) – The Lakeshore Chinooks scored 3 runs in the bottom half of the eighth inning to break a 6-6 tie and went on to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 9-6 on Wednesday.
Lakeshore scored the runs on a hit batter, a walk, a single and and error.
The Rockers who fell to 6-8 with the loss had just 5 hits and committed 4 errors.
Stefano Di Corrado had a double and drove in 2 runs from Green Bay. Alejandro Covas also drove in 2 runs.
Henry Irvin took the loss for the Rockers to fall to 1-4 after allowing the game’s final 3 runs over 2 2/3 innings. Only 1 of the runs was earned.
Kyle Knoll started for Green Bay and allowed 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning.
He was relieved by Wesley Marien who gave up 1 run in 5 1/3 innings on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 5 before turning things over to Irwin.
Green Bay hosts the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters tonight at 6:35 at Capital Credit Union Park.
