(LEARFIELD) – Veteran starter Brandon Woodruff made his return from the injured list a memorable one.
Woodruff retired the first 16 batters he faced and only allowed one hit in six shutout innings as the Milwaukee Brewers edged the Cincinnati Redsi in Cincinnati in 10 innings, 2-1.
Joey Ortiz broke the scoreless tie in the 10th with a sacrifice fly, and the eventual winning run scored on a wild pitch.
Joel Kuhnel picked up the save, and Trevor Megill was the winner.
Brandon Sproat starts for the Brewers in Cincinnati. Sproat is 1-4 with a 5.94 ERA.
Cincinnati will counter with Nick Lodolo who is 2-2 with a 6.12 ERA.
