(LEARFIELD) – Badgers star Caroline Harvey is expected to be the first pick in the 2026 Professional Women’s Hockey League Draft this afternoon.
Harvey led the USA to a gold medal in the Olympics and also claimed the Patty Kazmaier Award as the top player in the country.
The draft is being held in Detroit, and Harvey should hear her name called shortly after 4:00 p-m.
As many as three additional Wisconsin players are expected to go in the first 10 picks – Laila Edwards, Kirsten Simms, and Lacey Edens.
Badgers Defensive Line Coach Singled Out: Wisconsin defensive line coach E-J Whitlow has been singled out as one of the five best assistant coaches in the Big Ten.
MatrixAnalytical.com made the announcement.
Whitlow’s first unit ranked 91st in the country after giving up 165 yards per game rushing.
Last year, the Badgers limited opponents to 105 yards per game on the ground.
Yahoo Sports ranks Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell 14th in the conference.
