Newcomers Jaela Auguste and Halle Thompson each chipped in nine apiece, while Eva Travis tallied eight. The Golden Eagles provided a quick response, battling back with a 25-18 set two win to even the match at 1-1.
Each team went back-and-forth during the latter half of the match, as Wisconsin provided a strong answer in set three to take a 2-1 lead into the fourth. Thompson found her rhythm, earning five kills on 11 swings in the frame.
Behind a strong serving run from Auguste and a quality effort on the defensive end in set four, the Badgers pushed past the Golden Eagles to wrap up their first action of the spring—winning 25-21.
