LENA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A teenager is dead after a snowmobile crash in Lena Tuesday night.
Just after 7:30 p.m., the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center was notified that a single snowmobile had crashed in Lena.
Authorities say a 15-year-old Lena boy was traveling east on Arndt Road on private property when the crash occurred. It appears he lost control of the snowmobile, which was found on its side in a ditch, according to officials.
Lifesaving measures were performed at the scene and the boy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The Wisconsin DNR is investigating the crash, with assistance from the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
