MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Changes have come to services at the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wisconsin DMV is seriously limiting in-person visits.
Wisconsin DOT Spokesperson Kristina Boardman says most DMV services have moved online, and for those services that can’t, you’ve got to call ahead.
“People call in and indicate what they need to get done at the DMV, and we can advise them on whether or not that can be done elsewhere,” Boardman told WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News With Matt and Earl’. “And if not we connect them with their local office to see if they can get an appointment.”
Renewing license plates, changing address, titling a new vehicle, ordering a duplicate driver license or ID card and more can all be done online at wisconsindmv.gov.
Drivers whose licenses are expiring during the crisis have been given a sixty-day extension on renewal.
