MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — There are now 11,685 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin.
The Department of Health Services on Friday reported a near-record daily increase of 410 positive tests, along with 6,059 negative tests. This is the first time over 6,000 tests were reported in one day.
There are now 128,657 negative tests reported since the onset of the pandemic.
It’s the third straight day of increases after Monday and Tuesday’s new cases numbered fewer than 200. However, the daily percentage has remained steady around 6.3% since Wednesday.
A total of 445 people in Wisconsin have died of COVID-19. That is 11 more than Thursday.
Wisconsin hospitals say they are caring for 357 people with COVID-19. 127 are in intensive care units. Another 189 are waiting for their test results.
The state has 1,260 ventilators, with 338 in use, the same number as on Thursday.
Of the state’s 11,521 hospital beds, 3,533 are available.
