APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A house fire in Appleton caused roughly $200,000 in damage Friday afternoon.
At 12:00 p.m. the Appleton Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the 800 block of West Grant Street.
When crews arrived, smoke and flames could be seen from the back of the building. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes, but not before the single-family home sustained significant damage.
Two residents were evaluated for injuries suffered while evacuating the home, and one was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are still working to determine the cause.
The Appleton Fire Department would like to remind residents to know two ways out of every room, in case one is blocked or dangerous.
The Appleton Fire Department was assisted by Appleton Police Department and the Grand Chute Fire Department.
