GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Furloughs and layoffs have hit the local healthcare industry.
Bellin Health and Prevea Health both confirmed Tuesday that they’ve made staffing changes including changing shift staffing and furloughs in response to COVID-19.
In a statement, Prevea CEO Dr. Ashok Rai says the decision came about in part due to the cancellations of elective surgeries and doctor visits.
On Friday, Governor Tony Evers issued an emergency order to relax state licensing requirements in an effort to make more people eligible to work in hospitals as they deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
