A man is being treated for injuries after driving his vehicle into Lake Winnebago on Tuesday morning.
Oshkosh Police report the SUV was involved in a hit-and-run accident on South Main Street and 6th Avenue. The driver reportedly rear-ended another vehicle before fleeing the scene. The other vehicle involved in that accident proceeded to follow the driver of the SUV.
The SUV driver eventually drove his vehicle off a boat ramp at the 24th Avenue boat launch, ending up in Lake Winnebago.
The two occupants of the second car were not hurt. The driver of the SUV was removed from his vehicle by the Oshkosh Fire Department and taken to a local hospital.
It is currently unclear exactly what led the man to drive into the lake.
