GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A third person in Brown County has died as a result of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
Details on that death, which was reported by county health officials, were not immediately available Tuesday.
Health officials said Tuesday that there have been 920 cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus detected in the County, a 64 case jump from Monday. Health Department Spokesperson Claire Paprocki says testing has been very aggressive within the county and the jump in cases was anticipated.
“We’re doing more testing, so we’re having more test results come back,” Paprocki told reporters.
The county has requested more testing supplies from the state, and they’re sending about 2,500 additional kits in response.
There are 35 patients in the hospital and about the same amount out of isolation and recovering. Of the 920 cases, seven are in the Oneida Nation.
American Food Group and Salm Partners, two of the three meat plants linked to a recent spike in cases, are still in operation. JBS Beef Company closed Sunday after 255 JBS employees tested postive for the virus and an additional 77 cases were linked to JBS employees.
