GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who allegedly shot his father during an argument is competent to stand trial, a judge ruled Thursday.
Sedric King is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the March 16 incident in Ashwaubenon.
The competency ruling means King understands the court proceedings and can assist in his own defense.
He returns to court June 26 for a preliminary hearing, court records show
King allegedly shot Dennis James in the hip with a .45 caliber handgun at a residence on Santa Barbara Drive. James said the two argued about an electrical fuse box being taken apart by King, according to the criminal complaint. James was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
