APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Demetrius Williams pleaded not guilty Friday to killing a 3-year-old girl and stabbing her mother.
No trial date was set. He returns to court Aug. 26 for a status conference.
The parties appeared by video conference because of the court’s rules limiting in-person court appearances.
Williams faces three charges: first degree intentional homicide, attempted homicide, and attempted homicide of an unborn child, for the Feb. 26 incident.
Williams allegedly killed Zyana Corbin, and stabbed her mother, Tiana. Tiana is pregnant with Williams’ child. Williams became upset when she said she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him.
Williams has also been implicated in an escape attempt from the Outagamie County jail. He is expected to appear in court Friday afternoon on that case.
Williams and Matthew Beyer — who separately is charged with killing his own two children — allegedly tried to escape from the jail, but did not get out of their cellblock.
