GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police say they’ve identified the operator of a drone that disrupted last Thursday night’s Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field, but are not releasing any more details as the investigation continues.
With 7:43 remaining in the third quarter, referee Scott Novak signaled for a delay and both the Packers and Carolina Panthers briefly cleared the field. Announcer Al Michaels mentioned the drone on Prime’s Thursday Night Football broadcast and said the drone was not part of the broadcast operation.
The Federal Aviation Administration restricts drone flights within three nautical miles of qualifying NFL stadiums, up to 3,000 feet, from an hour before the game until an hour after it ends.
Green Bay police are working with the FAA, FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
