GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Apricity’s recovery center in Grand Chute is getting a facelift. The center announced the public phase of its $13 million campaign to expand the treatment facility.
“We took our 10,000 square-foot Casa Clare building which did residential treatment for women and we expanded on both sides of it, adding 26,000 square-feet and adding beds from 39 to 70,” said Apricity CEO Michelle Devine Giese.
Work on the project began in June 2025. Apricity has already raised $11 million toward its goal.
Devine Giese said the change was necessary to address the center’s growing waitlist.
“It was really heartbreaking for our staff to hear these stories and to hear people wanting to receive treatment,” she said. “When people are ready to receive treatment, it’s really important to get at them as soon as possible and get them into treatment.”
The work wasn’t just limited to an expansion.
The already-existing space was renovated to be more welcoming for those seeking care.
“We want people to feel like this is your home for this period of time and we want them to feel comfortable,” Devine Giese continued. “Because the more home they feel and the more connections they can make, the better success they can have.”
Casa Clare is currently Apricity’s women’s facility. Mooring House, its men’s facility, is in Neenah.
Once the work is finished, both programs will be in the same building with separate treatment plans.
The renovation will also bring Apricity’s job transition program just down the street from the treatment center.
“To have everything be right here, it’s like its own little community for people to heal and grow in and then as they advance in the program, their reach can go a little further out into the communities,” Clinical Supervisor and Substance Abuse Counselor Tim Hill Jr. said.
Officials said work on the expansion is expected to be finished by February.
Residents will be transferred to the new site by mid-May.
