(WNFL) – It’s the fourth week of the prep football season already.
My how time flies when you’re having fun.
Denmark (3-0) at Freedom (3-0): Denmark has scored 35, 47 and 35 points in its 3 wins while Freedom has put up 40, 59 and 63 in its 3 wins.
Defensively, Denmark has givein up 41 points while Freedom has allowed 21.
Leading Denmark offensively is Zack Freeman. The quarterback has passed for 118 yards while rushing for 302 yards. Brayden Jeanquarter is the leading receiver with 4 catches for 101 yards.
Defensively, Gentry Brown has made 27 tackles including 6 for loss and 2 1/2 sacks. He has also picked off a pass.
Freedom is led at quarterback by junior Owen Henkel. He has completed 48-of75 passes for 626 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Axzil Eggert is a bull in the backfield with 492 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on 46 carries.
Charlie Micke has caught 15 of Henkel’s passes or 223 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Denmark averages a nifty 6.4 yards rushing per carry but Freedom has an even better average at 9.5 yards per carry.
Through the air, Freedom has picked off 5 passes while Denmark has 3 interceptions.
Ashwaubenon (3-0) at West De Pere (3-0): Ashwaubenon is undefeated by way of wins over Green Bay Preble (14-0), Manitowoc (42-0) and Oshkosh North (28-20).
West De Pere owns wins over De Pere (35-12), Appleton North (35-7) and Sun Prairie East (42-20).
Ashwaubenon in putting together its 3-0 mark is led by Landin Joachim at quarterback who has completed 51-of-73 passes for 516 yards.
Abel Schubring has rushed for 276 yards on 55 carries while Nicholas Nesvacil has caught 13 balls for 135 yards.
West De Pere’s offense starts with Andrew Griesen. The junior has completed 64-of-100 passes for 803 yards and 7 touchdowns. Cooper Schabo takes the pressure off the passing game with 263 yards rushing on 40 carries. Parker Diedrich is the leading receiver with 18 catches for 234 yards while Colton Neuens has 21 catches for 233 yards.
Defensively, the Jaguars who have recorded 10 sacks and forced 6 fumbles will need to get pressure on Griesen to keep him from going through all his reads. All told 11 different players have caught passes for West De Pere.
Carter Brunette is the Jaguar defender to keep an eye on. He has 16 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 2 quarterback sacks.
Braylon Stegall has 24 sacks tackles for West De Pere.
Appleton West (3-0) at De Pere (2-1): After playing Green Bay East, Green Bay Southwest and Sheboygan South, Appleton West’ schedule gets markedly tougher when they travel to De Pere to face the Redbirds this Friday.
Appleton West is led by Connor Navis who has completed 26-of-48 passes for 464 yards and rushed for 141 more.
Charlie Blevins has been a do-everything player for the Terrors, rushing for 464 yards and catching 6 balls for 99 more.
Isaac Ise is Navis’ go-to reciever with 10 receptions for 118 yards and 2 scores.
De Pere which is coming off a stinging 35-12 loss to across-the-river rival West De Pere is led by Ryland Nowak who has completed 38-of-61 passes for 451 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Liam Fieber runs the ground game with 189 yards and 2 scores on 33 carries. Max Goebel has caught 21 passes for 277 yards.
Defensively, Cayden Cavanaugh has been all over the field with 27 tackles for the Redbirds.
Neenah (1-2) at Kaukauna (2-1): The winner of this game will take early control of the driver’s seat for the Fox Valley Association title.
Neenah is coming off a 40-2 throttling of Appleton East while Kaukauna won the proverbial slobber knocker against next door neighbor Kimberly 14-7.
Neenah is led by quarterback Ashton VanBeek. The senior quarterback has completed 31-of-58 passes for 456 yards and 6 touchdowns while rushing for 367 yards and 7 touchdowns.
VanBeek’s favorite receiver is Matthias Charlies with 10 catches for 195 yards.
Kaukauna is led at quarterback by Ryan Carrel. The junior has complered 33-of-69 passes for 385 yards while rushing for 150 yards and 5 touchdowns. Muhammed Jobe leads Kaukauna’s ground game with 391 yards on 47 carries. He has scored 4 times.
Jobe is also Kaukauna’s leading receiver with 391 yards rushing and 4 scores.
Owen Fox leads Neenah’s defense with 29 tackles.
Laythan Hurst has 25 tackles including 3 for loss for Kaukauna.
Both teams run the ball well. Neenah averages 6 yards per carry while Kaukauna averages 7.7 yards a rush.
When passing, Neenah averages 14.1 yards per catch while Kaukauna checks in at 11.7 yards per catch.
Overall, defensively, Kaukauna at 12 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 1 interception.
Neenah has 8 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 4 bumfles and 1 interception.
New Holstein (3-0) at Brillion (2-1): The Lions host the Huskies this Thursday night at Brillion.
New Holstein has rolled up the points, scoring 154 points in its 3 games including a 56-7 win over Roncalli last week.
Brillion hasn’t been quite as prolific offensively, scoring 91 points in its 3 games.
New Holstein’s offense is led by Conner Popp who has completed 16-of-23 passes for 327 yards and 7 touchdowns and Conner Schaefer who has rushed for 342 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ely Kohlman has caught 13 passes for 268 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Defensively, New Holstein is lead by Griffin Abler has 25 tackles including 5 tackles for loss.
Brillion is led by Kyen Meyer at quarterback. Meyer has passed for 296 yards and 5 touchdowns while completing 20-of-35 passes.
Westosn Schmidt is the leading rusher with 167 yards on 45 carries while Jaxson Kleist has caught 6 passes for 140 yards and rushed for 162 yards.
Liam Meyer is the leader of the Lions defense with 29 tackles.
New Holstein possesses a big play offense that averages 8.1 yards per running play and 19.5 yards per pass completion.
Other noteworthy games this week include Green Bay West trying to stay undefeated when they host Oshkosh North, Little Chute tries to go to 4-0 when they host Luxemburg-Casco and third-ranked Bonduel goes to Marinette.
