NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Neenah Common Council has unanimously approved a disaster declaration related to recovery efforts for last month’s tornado.
The declaration allows Mayor Brian Borchardt and the city staff to make decisions up to $2,879,965.
The budget, created by the mayor and city leaders, includes funding for the following:
- $1,957,500- Looks Great Services of MS for Tree and Debris Removal
- $320,250-Thompson Monitoring Service and Grant Administration as required by FEMA
- $14,255- Fuel
- $71,110- Fire Equipment
- 190,500- Overtime Estimate Departments-wide
- $5,000 – McMahon Interim Public Works Director
- $51,000 – Insurance Deductible
- $8,535 Emergency Generator Fuel for Water Utility
Before the meeting, Mayor Borchardt released an update on storm relief on social media.
“Please don’t wait for FEMA. If we get some that’s gonna be great, but like I said the people in Shiocton are still in that process right now and it could be longer so I want people to make sure they use the resources on are here on the ground and get what they need.”
A ten percent contingency was also included in the disaster declaration.
