MENASHA (WTAQ) — Police are forbidding traffic into the Menasha area after a likely tornado caused severe damage throughout the Fox Valley.
Footage posted online shows severe damage to a number of homes and businesses.

Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson has declared a disaster in the county.
Residents are being asked to conserve water as both the Menasha and Fox Crossing water treatment plants are without power.
Governor Tony Evers says he’s been briefed on the storms and that the state will assist.
I have been briefed on the storms making their way through Wisconsin. The state is ready to assist communities however we can. I also want to thank the emergency responders who are hitting the ground to help.

Travel through the area is extremely difficult right now, and Menasha police are urging residents to stay away from impacted areas unless absolutely necessary, stay away from downed power lines, and limit non-emergency travel.
Road closures on Highway 441 and US-10 are expected to continue.
In Menasha, they have set up the following emergency cooling shelters that can provide water and basic assistance:
- Christ the Rock Church
- Menasha Senior Center
- Menasha Public Library
