MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An administrator from Green Bay schools is in line to lead the Menasha school district.
The district has selected Dan Slowey to be its next superintendent. The move still needs to be approved by the full school board next Tuesday.
“In a group of incredible candidates, Dan’s experience, knowledge, and personality stood out to our board as an excellent fit for the next leader of the Menasha Joint School District,” board president Rob Konitzer said in a news release. “We are thrilled to have him join this administrative team, and are optimistic for the road ahead under Dan’s leadership.”
Slowey has been director of secondary education and school leadership and Advancement Via Individual Determination district director for the Green Bay Area Public School District since 2023. He has also served as principal at schools in Green Bay, Pulaski and Kimberly.
Slowey has a bachelor’s degree in school health education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, a master’s in education from UW-La Crosse, a principal certification from Marian University and a district administrator licenses from Educate-WI and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
“I am honored and excited to be joining the Menasha community and school district, a place with such a deep sense of tradition and pride,” Slowey said in a news release. “I look forward to working alongside students, staff, families, and community members to continue building on the strong foundation already established. I am committed to listening, learning, and leading as we move forward together to shape a strong and successful future for Menasha schools.”
Slowey succeeds Matt Zimmerman, who is taking a district-wide administrative position with the Appleton Area School District.
