(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) – Marquette University volleyball head coach Tom Mendoza announced the Golden Eagles’ 2026 schedule, featuring a challenging nonconference slate, a full BIG EAST Conference schedule and marquee matches both at home and on the road. Marquette will host 11 matches at the Al McGuire Center during the 2026 campaign.
“Last year we had a top-15 strength of schedule, and great players come to Marquette because they can play at the highest level of Division I volleyball while getting a more personalized college experience than a massive state school can offer. We are excited to release our 2026 schedule, as it achieves all three goals we look for: to play at the highest level of Division I volleyball, to provide a path to achieve our season goals, and to bring high-level volleyball matches to Milwaukee both this fall and in future home guarantees” Mendoza said of the upcoming season slate.
Marquette opens the campaign on Monday, Aug. 24 against Texas as part of the AVCA First Serve in Milwaukee. The Golden Eagles then hit the road for matches at Dayton (Aug. 28) and Wright State (Aug. 29).
The nonconference schedule continues in early September with a trip to Stanford, California, to face South Florida (Sept. 5) and host Stanford (Sept. 6). Marquette welcomes Illinois to the Al McGuire Center on Sept. 11 before returning the trip to Champaign on Sept. 13, and also travels to in-state rival Wisconsin on Sept. 17. MU close nonconference play at home against St. Thomas (Sept. 19) and Milwaukee (Sept. 20).
BIG EAST play begins on the road with matches at UConn (Sept. 25), Providence (Sept. 26) and DePaul (Sept. 30). Marquette’s conference home opener is set for Oct. 9 against Georgetown, followed by Villanova on Oct. 10 at the Al McGuire Center. Additional conference highlights include road trips to Creighton (Oct. 4), St. John’s (Oct. 16) and Seton Hall (Oct. 17), along with a key late-October homestand featuring Butler (Oct. 24), Xavier (Oct. 25), DePaul (Oct. 28) and Creighton (Oct. 30).
Marquette wraps up the regular season in November with road matches at Villanova (Nov. 6) and Georgetown (Nov. 7), followed by home contests against Seton Hall (Nov. 13) and St. John’s (Nov. 14). The 2026 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 21-22 in Omaha, Nebraska.
