SHAWANO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Officials are expressing cautious optimism that a dam on the Wolf River north of Shawano will hold.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on the Balsam Row Road Dam on Thursday morning.
According to the post, waster levels had dropped significantly over a 24-hour period.
Crews have been removing debris to help water move through the dam as heavy rains flooded the river this week.
“We are feeling much more comfortable with where things stand right now,” the sheriff’s office said in its Facebook post.
