SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Flooding has resulted in the Balsam Row Road Dam just north of Shawano to be at risk of failure.
Around 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Shawano County Sheriffs Office posted to Facebook that “the berms constructed overnight appear to be holding and doing their job. Water levels remain elevated from last night, and the water has now begun to cover the concrete platform portion of the dam.”
According to the Sherriff’s Office on Facebook, dam operators remain on site and are closely monitoring conditions:
Crews are back on-site this morning working to remove debris upstream to help improve water flow through the dam.
