(BIG TEN) – Junior catcher Hilary Blomberg from Verona has been named the Big Ten player of the week.
Blomberg helped the Badgers to a series sweep over Maryland, going 6-for-8 (.750) including three home runs, seven RBI, 15 total bases and three walks.
She went 4-for-4 in the opening game of the series, including three RBI and a home run.
Her third home run of the week was a three-run homer to walk it off for the Badgers in the 12-3 run-rule win in the series finale.
For the week, Blomberg recorded a 1.875 slugging percentage and a .833 on-base percentage.
It’s been a while since the Badgers had a softball player of the week. The last one was Kayla Konwent on March 9, 2020.
