GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person is in custody in connection with a charter bus crash Sunday which sent more than 30 people to the hospital.
Brown County Jail records list Ghebry Figeuroa, 37, as booked in Sunday night on one count of operating while revoked, causing great bodily harm.
The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office says Figueroa has not had a valid Illinois driver’s license since 2017, when it was suspended in a driving under the influence case. Figueroa had a commercial driver’s license at the time.
Illinois records indicate Figueroa is a U.S. citizen.
The Green Bay Police Department case number in the jail listing matches that released by police Sunday. He is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
Figueroa’s Facebook page lists him as the owner of Lucky Charter and Tours, based in Wheeling, Illinois.
The company’s website says:
For more than a decade, Lucky Charters and Tours has been providing the Illinois area unsurpassed ground transportation. Known for our impeccable commitment to safety, exceptional vehicles, and expert staff, we provide our customers more than just a ride, we guarantee a comprehensive, full service, transportation solution.
Lucky Charters and Tours’ U.S. Department of Transportation number is active. However, the carrier is not authorized to operate as an interstate, for-hire carrier. The USDOT record indicated the company has not reported any inspections or crashes in the previous two years.
