(ST. NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert College couldn’t get untracked offensively and fell to Wisconsin Lutheran College 48-29 in the championship game of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament at Time of Grace Center.
The Green Knights (18-8) shot just 19.6 percent from the floor for the game, making 10 of 51 field-goal attempts. St. Norbert also finished 0-for-15 from beyond the three-point arc.
Wisconsin Lutheran (23-5) took control early, jumping out to a 15-4 lead with 3:19 left in the first quarter. St. Norbert, which trailed 17-6 at the end of the first period, trailed by as much as 18 points in the second quarter before settling on a 30-15 deficit.
Both teams struggled to score in the third quarter, with the Warriors holding a scant 5-4 edge in the period. The Green Knights would get no closer the rest of the way.
Taylor Thiry led the Green Knights with 14 points, finishing her standout career fourth on St. Norbert’s career scoring list with 1,366 points. Oakley Witteck added seven points and six rebounds.
Wisconsin Lutheran shot 32.7 percent (16-for-49) from the floor. Kenly Frey led the Warriors with 17 points.
