(LEARFIELD/WNFL) – Bobby Portis connected on a jump shot from the free throw line with 20 seconds remaining to give the Bucks a 118-116 win over Cleveland Wednesday night.
The Bucks held on for the win after Jarrett Allen’s tip-in for Cleveland at the buzzer was ruled to come after time had expired.
The Cavaliers were going without three players, including James Harden.
Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his 13th straight game for Milwaukee.
Kevin Porter Junior led Milwaukee with 20 points, and Ryan Rollins had 18. Kyle Kuzma had 17 points while AJ Green and Myles Turner both scored 15. Jericho Sims had a double-double for the Bucks with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Porter talked about how the Bucks have won 8 of their last 10.
Doc Rivers talked about the Bucks’ hot streak.
Porter said that the team is getting confidence back with another home win.
Rivers said that the Bucks won despite making a couple of mistakes.
Portis said that the team is just settling in and playing good ball.
Allen led Cleveland with 27 points while Dennis Schroder had 26.
The victory pulled the Bucks to within 1 game of the Charlotte Hornets for the final NBA playoffs play-in spot.
The Bucks are at home Friday night for a game with the New York Knicks which can be heard beginning with the pre-game at 6:30 on 99.7 and 101.9 WNFL.
