(247NEWSSOURCE) MILAN – It was a record day for Team USA in men’s speed skating on Wednesday.
Jordan Stolz captured the gold medal after setting the Olympic record in the 1000 meter from Milan.
He says he’s worked hard to get to the top.
Stolz says he’s thrilled to win his first gold.

Stolz now holds both the world and Olympic records in the event. American teammates Conor McDermott-Mostowy and Cooper McLeod finished ninth and 19th. More speed skating is on tap for US men and women on Thursday.
