(BIG TEN) – The Big Ten announced its swimmers and divers of the week and 3 of the 4 honored are Wisconsin Badgers.
The women’s swimmer of the week is Maggie Wanezek from Elm, Grove.
Wanezek set three personal records at the Badger Invitational, setting a pool record in the 200 back in 1:49.47, finished first in the 50 free in a personal best 22.18, led off the winning 200 medley relay in 23.71 and swam a 21.85 split to help the 200 free relay to a first-place finish.
The women’s diver of the week is Ryane Neal, a Badgers athlete who comes from Lincoln, Neb.
Neal led the Badgers with three, first place finishes at the Badger Invitational, finished first on 1-meter with 308.33 points, the second-best all-time score at Wisconsin, finished first on 3-meter with 337.43 points for the second-best all-time score in program history and finished first on platform with 282.65 points.
The Big Ten’s men’s freshman of the week is Miles Cratsenberg of Bellingham, Washington.
The freshman Badgers swimmer earned an individual event win and a runner-up finish at the Badger Invitational, finished first in the 500 free in 4:22.56, finished second in the 200 fly in 1:50.81 and anchored a 44.61 split in the 400 free relay to help relay team to a second-place finish.
