MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Dozens of youngsters can bundle up and stay warm this winter, thanks to a generous community donation.
Dahl Subaru – Sheboygan, in partnership with Operation Warm and the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, donated more than 50 brand-new winter coats to the Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County.
With the help of volunteers, children eagerly “went shopping” to pick out coats in their favorite colors and styles. Officials say it was a joyful experience for the kids, many of whom have unmet needs and lack access to basic necessities.
“The small details mattered most. Youth eagerly wrote their names on the inside label where it read ‘belongs to,’ claiming something that was entirely their own,” a news release reads.
Not only will the coats protect the children from harsh Wisconsin winters, but they will also offer a boost in confidence, the Boys & Girls Club said.
