OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police arrested a man tied to a string of crimes in Oshkosh.
Police accuse the 35-year-old man of committing two instances of retail thefts and a burglary all on the same day.
The incidents are:
- On February 3, 2026, Officers responded to the 2300 block of Westowne Avenue for a retail theft incident. Around 9:50 AM, the suspect concealed property and left the business without paying.
- On February 3, 2026, Officers responded to the 700 block of Nicolet Avenue for a burglary investigation. Officers determined a masked suspect broke into the business around 10:19 PM, using a crowbar and attempted to break into the ATM.
- On February 3, 2026, around 11:53 PM, Officers responded to the 2300 block of Westowne Avenue. Surveillance footage and scene evidence indicated the suspect from the earlier retail theft incident forced entry into the business using a crowbar.
On Wednesday, police had detectives locate the vehicle and suspect responsible for these incidents. It was determined that the suspect was wearing the same clothing in all of these incidents and driving a silver Pontiac vehicle. Upon reviewing video surveillance from the two Oshkosh businesses and using other investigative technology, officers successfully identified the suspect vehicle’s license plate.
The investigative technology led to identifying the suspect vehicle was in Grand Chute.
Detectives contacted the Grand Chute Police Department, who were quick to start looking for this vehicle. The vehicle and suspect were located in a business parking lot in the 3000 block of W. Wisconsin Avenue around 11:41 AM.
Grand Chute Police Officers placed the man under arrest, and he was eventually transported back to the Oshkosh Police Department for an interview with detectives.
Police say the suspect vehicle contained numerous items of property determined to be stolen.
